Subject: Greater Eagle Fire seekig information, sop's and/or policies

Chief Mygatt,

The Greater Eagle Fire Protection District is developing a Support Division
in our District. My understanding is that it will resemble what several FD's
are calling a Citizen Corps. It is not a reserve program that has
firefighters available to respond to calls, but rather it is an outreach
program to get community residents that have unique skill sets into the
District and give them an opportunity to volunteer. They would perform
clerical, IT, and other support and logistical type services for the
District. They would also help with Community Service projects and events as
well.

We are looking for other Districts or Departments that may have a similar
program in place and how it is managed. Some of the issues we are trying to
work out include: work comp, required hours worked, types of training,
benefits, and incentives that would be offered.

Would you please forward this on to the other Combination Departments on
your mailing list? We appreciate any assistance you are able to provide.

If anyone has information, suggestions, or ideas to share, please contact
either Chief Jon Asper or Deputy Chief Chris Blankenship at the Eagle Fire
Station, (970)328-7244. E-mail may be sent to chief at eaglefiredistrict.com
and ops at eaglefiredistrict.com.

Thank you,

Chris Blankenship
